The road so far

February 2023

Founding Plense Technologies

After Thijs and Berend completed their discovery journey through an internship in horticulture to learn more about the industry they were about to enter, they later founded Plense. The rollercoaster ride was about to begin with a clear mission: to make cultivation easy, efficient, and accessible.

May 2023

Becoming an award winning startup

We won three pitch competitions, highlighted by winning the Rough Diamond Award at the Philips Innovation Award—the largest student entrepreneurship award in the Netherlands, aimed at students who want to further develop their startups or ideas.

July, 2023

Securing our first funding

We raised our first funding from the TTT, Delft Enterprises, Rabobank, NWO and province Zuid Holland! With a little bit more than €400k in total, we could develop our first prototype and hire the right people to advance our mission.

January, 2024

Expanding our team!

We welcomed our first employees, Miranda and Stijn. Their skills are being applied to the data analysis and development of the product, helping us take steps toward testing our first plensor prototype.

Start using our prototype

Our prototype is active in five locations! We are gathering data from the pilots, and later this year, we closed a partnership with the WUR in which we will install over 120 Plensors!
