Frequently Asked Questions
Can't find the answers you're looking for, we're here to help you out with any questions.
Is our product already available?
We currently collaborate with researchers and breeders to validate our technology, because we want to make sure everything works robustly before selling to customers. Interested in collaborating? Send us an email at info@plense.tech.
Which crops do you focus on?
We focus on high-value crops with a sizable stem. We have so far deployed our sensors on the greenhouse crops tomato, pepper, chrysanthemums. We have also tested in a greenhouse setting on corn and potato, which are open-field crops. Although the technology is not ready yet to be deployed in open fields, we do have the ambition to do so.
Are the sensors wireless?
The current setup is wired. We need a power supply to power one box, which can control up to 20 plensors. As for connectivity we can connect to local Wifi, through cable or supply our own SIM cards.
How is it different from current plant monitoring methods?
There are already some methods available to monitor crop health, from manual inspection to weighing modules. By using ultrasound, we can look inside the plant, where most important processes happen before they are visible. Therefore, you get direct feedback about the internal state of your crop.
How is Plense Technologies funded?
We are funded by Delft Enterprises and the NWO (Dutch Research Council). We expect to start raising our seed-round in the next few months. Interested in investing? Get in touch!
